N°1, Xueyuan Road. The One
The One. It means divergence, pointing to ambiguities and signifying utmost and complete praise to the unnamable. It subtly responds to the daily praxis and bodily fate of those on the mountain. There seems to be no magic but there is manifestation of absolute ness at every corner. We cannot but give it a plain nomenclature: creativity.
The One. It is our collective nomenclature, and it is even our fate. Other people's fantasy is our daily praxis. It is both a reality and a direction towards glory of tomorrow. It often traps us in psychological predicaments, because psychological predicaments are the foundation of art, and we are constantly blessed by the One.

The 2017 Kuan-du Arts Festival is entitled “Rendezvous.” It is a gathering
place for the performing arts, dance, theater and music. This year, the emphasis is on
the connections between Asian and Southeast Asian professional artists including
those from Mongolia, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Japan and Laos. To align with
this theme, the Kuan-du Arts Festival has designed the opening ceremony to
incorporate Taiwanese Temple Dancing, aboriginal music and a dance group from the
east coast of Taiwan.
Moreover, a new generation of young professional performing arts groups
has been invited from the United States and Europe. Their participation in the festival
has expanded the meaning of “Rendezvous.” They are here to celebrate the richness
and possibilities of the performing arts. To reach a greater audience, we have
designed a special educational program to invite nearby elementary school students to
attend an afternoon lecture/demonstration to enrich their horizons and understanding
of the arts. The arts can only continue to thrive if our next generation carries the torch.
Using the power of dance, theater and music, we wish to take advantage of the
meaningful month of October, TNUA’s anniversary month, to present to all of you
the 24th year of the Kuan-du Arts Festival.
